Tell me who your friends are

Want to know who’s linking to your blog (or any of your web sites)? Try Technorati’s Website URL Search at http://technorati.com/search/. Just type the address (URL) of your site, press enter and you’ll be shown a list of the other sites who have links to you. It’s absolutely necessary for the paranoid, and just plain fun for those who aren’t. After all, it’s nice to know who likes you, who really really likes you.

I tried doing a search for my personal blog and came up with seventeen sites, the most surprising of which were the blog of an 18-year-old student from UP (goodness, I hope all my swearing doesn’t corrupt him) and a blog written purely in Spanish (which I don’t speak– at all). See? Fun.

Thanks to Anil Dash for the link. Now go forth, bloggists and bloggers, and make some science yourself.

Software Freedom Day Philippines will be this September. It’s just part of a vast worldwide conspiracy of IT people to help people gain access to good, free software. What could be better than that?

The following are the organizations involved:

  • CPU
  • PLUG
  • Ubuntu LoCo
  • UnPlug

I believe they’re still looking for volunteers and organizations to help them out. Please email rickjr@cp-union.org and include your organization and the names of two representatives with their contact numbers.
